Building Workiom Interfaces with Claude

An Interface is a custom page that lives inside your Workiom workspace and works with your real lists. You describe what you want in plain language, it gets built, and it publishes to an address in your own domain.

Your data does not move or get copied. The Interface reads and writes the same lists, with the same permissions and the same automations. It is a different way in, not a different copy.

What teams build with them

• A submission page for staff who should never see the underlying list, such as an IT ticket form
• A client portal where each customer signs in and sees only their own records
• A mobile friendly page for people working away from a desk
• A summary screen for leadership, showing a handful of numbers rather than a full report

Before you start

The plugin must be installed, Interfaces must be enabled for your workspace, and you need super admin rights to publish. Anyone can design one in conversation, but a super admin publishes it.

How it works

You decide what the page is for. Three things settle it: who opens the page, what they do on it, and which Workiom lists it touches. A few clear sentences is enough, but a vague description produces a vague page.

You describe it to Claude. Normal language, no syntax to learn. A weak request is "build me a form". A good one is "build an interface for our IT Helpdesk app, employees submit a ticket with a title, description, urgency and category, and see their own tickets with current status, keep it simple and mobile friendly".

Claude reads your real lists. It looks at the actual structure of your workspace, tells you what it found, and asks about anything ambiguous before it starts. Engage with that part. Fixing a misunderstanding there costs you a sentence, fixing it later costs a rebuild.

You review a preview. A simple Interface takes around fifteen to twenty minutes, because the page is genuinely written and checked rather than assembled from blocks.

You publish it. The Interface goes live at an address in your own domain, in the form yourworkspace.workiom.com/vibe/YourInterfaceName. That link is what you share. Anyone who opens it signs in with their own Workiom account and sees only what they are allowed to see.

You change it whenever you need to. Ask for the change and a new version publishes. Every version is kept, so anything that does not work out rolls back.

Check these before you publish

• The fields match what you expected, including button labels
• It behaves properly on a narrow screen if your team works from phones
• Required fields, hidden fields and default values match your list. These do not always carry across exactly, so compare the form against the real record layout and ask for corrections before publishing

That last one is the most common source of surprise, and two minutes of checking saves a round of corrections after people start using the page.

Getting better results

Describe behaviour, not just fields. "A status field" tells Claude what to draw. "A status field only managers can change" tells it what to build.

Say who it is for. A page for warehouse staff on phones and a page for finance on desktops should not look the same.

Ask for one change at a time when revising. Three small requests are easier to review than one large one.

Bring your brand early. Attach your brand guide as a PDF at the start and the Interface picks up your colours and typography. Much cleaner than correcting colours afterwards.

Current limitations

• File uploads from an Interface are not supported yet. If your process needs attachments, that step stays in Workiom for now
• Interfaces do not create automations. They are the front end. Build the automation in Workiom and the Interface will feed it
• Interface names accept English characters only. Put an Arabic or Turkish title in the page heading instead
• Publishing requires super admin rights

If something does not work

Claude cannot find your lists. Open the plugin settings, confirm the connection is active, then check the API key came from the workspace you are building in.

Publishing fails. Most often your account is not a super admin, or Interfaces are not enabled for that workspace.

The Interface opens but keeps loading. Close the tab, sign in to your Workiom workspace directly, then open the Interface link again. If it continues, contact us with the Interface address.

A change did not appear. Refresh the page. If you still see the old version, ask Claude to confirm which version is published.

A note on safety

An Interface never has more access than the person opening it. It runs inside your workspace using the viewer's own session, so someone who cannot see a list in Workiom cannot see it through an Interface either. Sharing the link does not share the data behind it.
