Adding the Workiom Plugin for Interfaces

The Workiom plugin does two jobs in one install. It sets up the connection between Claude and your workspace, and it adds what Claude needs to build Interfaces, which are custom pages that run inside your Workiom workspace and work with your real lists.

If you have already connected Workiom to Claude on its own, you still need the plugin to build Interfaces. Installing it will not break your existing connection.

What the plugin adds

• Everything the data connection gives you, which is reading your lists, creating and updating records, and uploading files
• The ability to build Interfaces by describing what you want in plain language
• The ability to publish those Interfaces into your workspace and update them later

Before you start

You need a Claude account on any paid plan, and a Workiom account that can open Workspace Settings.

There is no file to download. The plugin is published in the Workiom marketplace, so you add it from inside Claude and you always get the current version. The dialog asks for the repository, so have this ready:

Follow the walkthrough

Everything is in the walkthrough below. Step through it at your own pace and it will take you from an empty plugins screen to a working plugin.

What it takes you through

1. Opening your Claude settings and going to the Plugins page
2. Adding the Workiom marketplace using the repository address above
3. Installing the Workiom plugin from that marketplace
4. Installing the Workiom connection that comes with it
5. Creating an API key in Workiom, under Workspace Settings, then Developer, then Integrations
6. Pasting that key into the authorization screen and confirming the connection

Things to know while you follow it

You will see a note that marketplaces outside the public directory are not reviewed by Anthropic. That is standard. This one is published by Workiom from our own repository, so you can continue.

Your API key is shown only once. Copy it before you close that window. If you lose it, you create a new one rather than looking it up. You can delete it from the same page at any time, which cuts off access instantly.

You are granting three things on the authorization screen: reading your Workiom data, creating, updating and deleting records, and uploading files on your behalf. Nothing outside your own workspace, and nothing you cannot revoke later.

If you do not see Workspace Settings or the Developer section, your account does not have workspace admin rights. Ask your workspace admin to grant access or to create the key for you.

Check that Interfaces are enabled

The plugin is only half of what you need. Interfaces also have to be switched on for your Workiom workspace, which we do on our side. If you do not see Interfaces in your workspace, contact us and we will enable it.

Publishing an Interface currently requires workspace super admin rights. Anyone can design one in conversation, but a super admin publishes it. Worth checking before you start building.

Keeping the plugin up to date

When we ship an improvement, you do not need a new file. Open the Workiom marketplace from your Plugins page and update it there.

Your connection and your API key are not affected by an update. You do not need to authorize again.

Try it out

Start a new chat in Claude and confirm the connection is live:

"List the applications in my Workiom workspace."

Then try what the plugin actually unlocks:

"Build me a page where my team can submit bug reports straight into my Bug Reports list."

Claude will look at the real structure of your lists, confirm what it found, and ask about anything ambiguous before it starts building. A simple Interface usually takes around fifteen to twenty minutes.

If something does not work

The marketplace will not add. Check the address is the full repository URL, https://github.com/workiom/workiom-claude-plugins, with no trailing spaces or characters.

The plugin is not being used in chat. Check the plugin toggle on the Plugins page is switched on.

Claude cannot find your workspace. Open the plugin, check the Connectors tab, and make sure the entry shows as connected rather than showing a Connect button.

Claude cannot publish an Interface. Most often your account is not a super admin in that workspace, or Interfaces have not been enabled for it.

You want to cut off access. Delete the API key in Workiom under Workspace Settings, then Developer, then Integrations. Access stops immediately.

A note on safety

Claude only reaches Workiom through the key you created, so it inherits your permissions and nothing more. It cannot see other workspaces, and it cannot see anything you do not have access to yourself.

The same applies to the Interfaces you build. Whoever opens one signs in with their own Workiom account and sees only what they are allowed to see.
