Transcript

The Audit log gives workspace owners and super admins one place to review activity across the apps in the workspace, so you can see what changed, who did it, and when. It covers apps, lists, fields, reports, automations, and forms. It's also where you restore a deleted app.

Note: Only the Workspace Owner and Super Admins can open the Audit log.

Open the Audit Log

  1. Open Workspace Settings.
  2. Select Audit log.

The page opens with the title Activities, with the Activities and Last Seen tabs. It works like the Activities page inside an app, with two additions: a Select Application dropdown, which scopes the table to the app you pick, and an App name column in the table.

The table has these columns: Activities, List Name, App name, Area, Type (Create, Update, or Delete), Date, and Users.

Find What You Need

Use Search and Filter to narrow the table. The Activities page inside an app works the same way, so the Activities article explains each column and filter in more detail.

Restore a Deleted App

  1. In the Audit log, find the app's Delete row. Use Search and Filter if needed.
  2. Point to the row and select Open.
  3. Select Restore, or Cancel to close without restoring.

When you restore an item, a message such as Item restored successfully appears.

The banner at the top of the page tells you that deleted items can be restored for a limited time after they're deleted. You have 30 days to restore a deleted item.

What the Audit log doesn't do

  • There is no separate Trash or Recycle bin. Restoring is done from the Activities page or the Audit log.
  • Deleted lists and fields are restored from the app's Activities page. A restored field does not bring back view filters that used it.
  • To restore a single record, use the Activities page inside the app. See the Restore Deleted Records article.

Use Cases

  • Business use case: An admin finds out that a team's Sales app disappeared. In the Audit log, they look for the app's Delete row, see who deleted it and when, and restore it.
  • Simple use case: You want to know who created a list last week. Open the Audit log, use Filter to narrow the table to the Create type, and check the Users and Date columns.

💡 Tip: Filter by the Delete type to see everything that was deleted, then open the row you need.
